Speaking at the monthly review meeting of Karnataka Development Programme held at Chamarajanagar on Thursday Bhimasena said the contractors would be black-listed after confiscating their deposit money. ZP president K Rajeshwari presided over the meeting.
The deputy secretary said the accountant general (AG) had taken exception to the delay in executing several projects including roads in the district. The AG has also recommended action against the officials in service when the projects were delayed.

ZP health and education standing committee president Koppali Mahadevanayak said Rs 50 lakh sanctioned for the Honnameti-Bedaguli road has not yet been used. He questioned why tenders have not been invited.

President of standing committee on social justice B P Puttabudhi pointed out that the roads in Santhemaralli hobli were in a very bad shape, but have not been repaired for a long time.
Executive engineer of public works department Ramesh said tenders have been invited twice for the Honnameti-Bedaguli road twice after the death of the contractor who had bagged the tender earlier, but no one was applying now. So tender would be invited once again.

He said work on the 248km-long Gundlupet-Chamarajanagar-Santhemaralli has begun and it would be completed in phases.

ZP vice-president M Siddaraju, assistant secretary P G Venugopal and other district level officers participated in the meeting.
