Expats' pick

For a truly authentic Italian experience my bet is Olive Beach. The decor is
Mediterranean minimalist —  with lots of tiny candlelit alcoves for privacy. The selection of antipasto is excellent with some cured meats and sausages that come in straight from where they’re made the best! Also, I love the classically hand-tossed pizzas.

My favourite restaurant in Bangalore till date is Via Milano. The people running the restaurant know one or two things about hospitality. I always feel very welcome and they will take good care of their guests. The experience is much more personal compared to the upscale 5 star restaurants. The food is also excellent, especially if you compare value for money. I can for sure recommend the beef lasagna!

My favourite at the moment is one with a silly name but good food: The Tasty Tangle in UB City. It’s more or less Singaporean which means a mixture of all kinds of Asian dishes. I love the tented outside seating on the courtyard — breezy but without any traffic — where our kids can run around. Reasonable drink prices, and good food as well.

Do you ever feel like eating a nice big steak, or maybe even a delicious hamburger? The Only Place is the restaurant for you. Their best menu selections are the “tornado” and “double filet mignon” and right now “the lamb chops” are in season, go and eat them! It isn’t just rich in food, but also in history… so it’s a definite yes to The Only Place if I feel like eating out.

I love Japanese food, and Harima and Dahlia are my choices when we go out for sushi. The freshness of the ingredients they use gives their food the true taste, and the warm-hearted hospitality makes me feel very welcome. In fact, they even remember our names.
