Sequel to a hit

The movie will be directed by Shimit Amin for producer Ram Gopal Varma. Now that it is raining sequels in Bollywood with Mahesh Bhatt basking in the success of ‘Murder 2’ and Rakesh Roshan and Dinesh Patel planning to make Krrish 2 and Phool Aur Kaante 2 respectively, Nana Patekar told the media at the music launch of the Marathi film Deool that he is all set to act in the sequel to his acclaimed hit Ab Tak Chappan.

“Ram Gopal Varma is quite excited about the prospects of making Ab Tak Chappan 2 with me in the same role. The film takes off from where the first film ended. It will go on the floors as soon as the script is completely ready. The best thing about the subject of Ab Tak Chappan is that it is contemporary even in today’s context.”

Nana Patekar’s fans have been eagerly looking forward to watching their favourite actor setting the screen ablaze once again. When asked whether he contemplates making his comeback as a director after a long hiatus after his directorial debut Prahaar, which released two decades ago, Nana says that it is entirely up to Ram Gopal Varma to take a call on who should direct the sequel.
