Atwal misses cut; Gangjee impresses

Last Updated 15 October 2011, 17:48 IST

Atwal ended three-over overall, four shots off the cut which came at one-under. Webb Simpson shot a three-under 67 and at 130, he was two shots behind leader Billy Horschel (64), who picked up four shots in his last four holes.

Simpson and Luke Donald are locked in a battle for the Money List honours and in case Donald wins, he could become the first man in history to win the Money List titles on both PGA and European Tours.

Donald is not playing this week but will feature at Disney next week, as will Simpson.
Gangjee cards 67

Rahil Gangjee carded a second successive four-under 67 and rose to the tied fifth spot after the second round of the Nationwide Tour’s Miccosukee Championships in Miami.
Gangjee, 17th after the first round, made a good move upwards and at eight-under he is in touch with the leaders.

Gangjee had a brilliant start with three birdies in first five holes starting from the 10th. He then picked up three birdies against two bogeys on the second nine for a round of 67.
Chopra slips

Daniel Chopra (72), the overnight co-leader, dropped from the lead to be tied 11th. Chopra is 25th on the Money List right now.

Gangjee is currently 95th on Nationwide Money List and with just under $47,000, not even a winner’s cheque of $90,000 will get him into the top-25, who get the PGA Tour card next year.

But it will certainly get him into the top-60 who play the Nationwide Tour Championships in two weeks. The 60th place holder currently has just over $87,450.
Meanwhile. Jason Kokrak added a five-under 66 to a first-day 63 to move into sole 36-hole lead.

He is 13-under 129, a tournament record, and three better than Luke List (66) and Jonas Blixt (65), who are at 132. Brett Wetterich (68) is fourth at 133 heading into the weekend.
