'Inculcate patriotic values in children'

He was speaking at the Independence Day programme organised on the premises of Mini Vidhana Soudha in the town on Saturday. The MLA  said that everybody should work towards making Srinivaspur a model taluk, for which various schemes have been planned.

The officials should see to that all the developmental programmes are implemented, he stated.

MLC Y A Narayanaswamy who spoke on the occasion called upon the youth to understand the celebration of Independence Day and inculcate values of patriotism and help in the overall development of the country. They should take active participation in solving the problems being faced by our country such as terrorism, unemployment and others, he added.

Tahsildar Manjunathswamy hoisted the National Flag. ZP members R Narayanswamy, G Rajanna, YMC president B M Prakash, taluk JD (S) president B G Syeed Khadar, taluk panchayat EO Prakash, taluk Kannada Sahithya Parishat President Na Venkoba Rao, Deputy Tahsildar Narayan Vittal and others were also present.

Due to rains, march-past and cultural programmes had to be cancelled.
