Leela Krishnan shows his class, wins fifth leg

With two races left in Delhi in December in the final leg, Leela Krishnan (RAD’s Racing) need to win both to prevent Rajvirdhan from winning the overall title.

Krishnan is all the more eager to prove his detractors wrong, some of whom had predicted since his return to competitive racing this July that he had to work for four years to keep pace with youngsters such as Rajvirdhan.

"Leave alone four years to keep pace with them, I returned the best timing of 2:00.245 seconds at Sriperumbudur and none could match it in the last two races. I am not here to leave anything to chance. I will go all out in the next two races in Delhi," he said.
Today's race saw the top three drivers go neck to neck until Krishnan overtook Radha Selvarajan and Rajvirdhan in the third lap to hold on to lead till the end.

Rajvirdhan overtook Selvarajan in the last three laps to finish runner-up. rishnan timed 20:29.371 seconds for 10 laps, while Rajvirdhan, who set a best lap time of 2:01.366 secs, took 20:34.978 secs. Siddarth Kishore (20:38.533secs) was third.

Rajvirdhan now leads the points table with 174. Krishnan, who got 50 points for his double win this weekend, has 126. If he wins the next two races, he will get a total of 176 points, enough for the overall title.

In Formula Swift, Mumbai's Ameya Walavalkar of Mars Racing, came first timing 19:50.101 seconds, followed by Chittesh Mandody (Meco Racing) (19:50.817) and Sarosh Hataria of Meco Racing who timed 20:02.970 seconds.
