Cong flays BJP for frequent power cuts

State has spent lot of money on purchasing power than producing it

“When the BJP government had come to power, it had promised to develop the State, however it has plunged it into darkness. When K S Eshwarappa was the Energy Minister, he has misappropriated crores of rupees while purchasing coal,” he alleged.

He also condemned the proposal of increasing the price of electricity by Rs 1.25 per unit and added that the inefficiency of the State government in producing sufficient power is putting consumers in trouble. The State has spent a lot of money in purchasing power than producing it, he regretted.

Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee General Secretary Ivan D’Souza mocked at the ailments suffered by BJP leaders, especially when they are arrested. How can these leaders develop the State when they themselves are suffering from ill-health most of the times, he questioned.

District Youth Congress President Mithun Rai regretted that the State government has gifted darkness, even when the auspicious festival of lights ‘Deepavali’ is round the corner.

He also added that many students are preparing for exams and instead of motivating the youth, the BJP government is torturing them with power cuts.
Congress Leaders Farooque Ullal, Ibrahim Kodijal, T K Sudhir and others were present.
