All the members who took part in the protest march from Ambalpadi to service bus stop carried black flags besides banners carrying slogans against BJP leaders.

Speaking on the occasion, District Congress President Gopal Poojary alleged that the Karnataka State, during the tenure of BJP governance, has undergone the heat of corruption never like before. In this backdrop, Advani’s anti-corruption Janchethana Yatra would encounter embarrassing situation as most of the ministers in the state cabinet are facing one or the other corruption charges.

It would be better for the BJP senior leader to skip his scheduled visit in various parts of the State and straight away go to neighboring states.

The ministers like Ashoka, Murugesh Nirani and Ramdas are at the top of the list of those who would be put behind bars shortly. The purpose and message to be given through Advani’s rathyatra deserves no value and what credibility does Advani’s message holds, when his own party men in the state are booked everyday under corruption charges, he added.

Udupi Block Congress President Pramodh Madhwaraj ridiculed the purpose of Advani’s rathyatra and said even at the ripe age, Advani is not out of power thirst. He is dreaming that his rathyatra will get him the chair of Prime Minister. As rathyatra was flagged off in Bihar, which is governed by Nitish Kumar who was against Narendra Modi’s visit to his state, this yatra can be considered as yatra against Narendra Modi and not against corruption.

The convener of the yatra Ananth Kumar himself is facing the charges of misappropriation of funds amounting up to Rs 14,000 crore in HUDCO scam. Advani should reschedule his yatra and go to Andhra Pardesh or Tamilnadu. Or else he should visit Parappana Agrahara and offer lotus to all tainted ministers including former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa, he said and added that corruption has become faction of BJP governance and Udupi CMC is not barred from corrupt activities, where crores of fraud do take place, he said.

Former Minister Jayaprakash Hegde said Parappana Agrahara should be transformed into hospital and it should be made centre of Vidhana Soudha activities. The entire government is synonymous with the word fraud.

Corruption charges against the ministers in State cabinet has become a common phenomenon everyday, he said and added BJP spokesperson C T Ravi will be grilled for corruption charges shortly. A mock-up of prison with Congress members wearing the facemask of Yeddyurappa and other BJP ministers who are in prison was taken out on the occasion.
