'Develop rural areas'

Performing bhoomi pooja for the laying of the road at Hulehalli hobli in Birur under Prime Minister’s Gram Sadak Yojana at a cost of Rs 96.50 lakh, on Saturday, he said that three projects out of 15 proposals have received approval under MP’s fund. A sum of Rs 4.30 crore has been released.

MLC Y S V Datta said that JD(S) has been emphasizing on rural development every since its inception.

MLC Gayatri Santhegowda said that state government has failed to take up development works in the district.

“Though Kadur has been declared as drought-hit, no funds have been released so far,” she said.
