Tabu to debut in Sandalwood?

Hemu, a debutant director, who has earlier worked as an assistant director to Yograj Bhat, has approached the actress for his debut film ‘Family’.

Talking to Metrolife, Hemu says that Tabu was impressed by the one-line story that was mailed to her. “I can’t really divulge the storyline but the story revolves around Tabu’s character. She really liked the story and her characterisation in the movie. She has asked us to come and meet her in the coming week to discuss the dates and the renumeration,” he adds.

After Lifu Ishtene, this will be the third film being launched under Yogaraj Movies. Having worked under directors like Nagabharna, Puri Jagannadh, Yograj Bhat, and Suri and with banners like Vajreshwari Combines and Poornima Enterprises, direction has been a long time dream for Hemu.

“It is a happy moment for me as I have been waiting for a perfect launch pad for my new venture. So far Yogaraj Movies has been churning out only youthful stories but this will be a little different as the focus is more on family. We are almost done with the story and will start work on the script soon,” he says.

According to sources, Ananth Nag has been chosen to play the lead role opposite Tabu. And another young pair will be featured in the film, who will be selected shortly. “We are yet to get a confirmation from Ananth Nag and we are looking out for fresh faces for the young couple’s role,” says Hemu. The movie will go on floors in the month of December.
