HC directs payment of dues to NITK ex-registrar

Dinakar had challenged the order of a single judge which upheld demoting him from the Central pay scale to the State scale, following an inquiry report submitted by a committee headed by Dr Balaveera Reddy, former vice chancellor of Visvesvaraya Technological University.

Dinakar was alleged to have been drawing central pay, though not entitled. Dinakar, in his appeal, had termed the report an act of vengeance since he had questioned Reddy’s decision to appoint his daughter and son-in-law to NITK.

According to the appellant, Reddy had appointed his son-in-law Rana Pratap Reddy as assistant professor, department of Mechanical Engineering and his daughter N Vidyavathi a research fellow in Department of Chemical Engineering at the same institute, though her qualification, a post graduation in bio sciences did not make her eligible for the post.
