Cops nab killers within hours

Acting swiftly, Mangalore City Police arrested three people with criminal background in connection with the murder of  Murugesh (32) and Upendra (28) by Friday evening.
Addressing a news conference on Friday, Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh said that the murder had taken place due to group rivalry as Murugesh and Upendra have been linked to the murder of rowdy sheeter Vamanjoor Rohi, which took place in 2009.

During interrogation the arrested trio Raghu Mudushedde, Gopal Shivanagar and Faisal, all in age group of 20 to 30 years have said that earlier all of them including Murugesh and Upendra had been a part of the same gang, which split after some internal drift in 2009.
The team had together killed Nagesh Poojary in 2002.

Singh said that from preliminary investigations it so seems that there are many more involved in the case, all of whom will be nabbed soon.

]He said that all the evidences will be collaborated and motive will be established so that the cases does not go acquitted and becomes a lesson for the anti-socials.

However, lauding the police for their success in cracking the case, the Commissioner distributed cash award to as many as 10 of the ASIs during the press meet.

Double murder

Murugesh and Upendra were stabbed to death using sharp weapons near Mudushedde bus stand at about 1.30 pm.

The witnesses to this incident said that a group of miscreants who killed Upendra earlier proceeded towards Murugesh who was running a finance business along with a small mobile phone recharge shop in Mudushedde.

They saw five to six people chasing Murugesh. Within no time the miscreants caught him and stabbed him to death too.

Sources say that Murugesh has a two-month-old baby. It was recently that Murugesh got his sister wedded to Upendra. The local residents say that Murugesh was a rowdy sheeter with criminal past but Upendra was innocent who was earning a decent living riding auto.
