Last Updated 11 November 2011, 18:50 IST

The incident came  to light about a week ago when Karnataka Rakshana Vedike activists inspected the house and found that the child’s parents Ramesh and Divya, both daily wage workers had been tying the child up in the house to ensure his safety as there was nobody to take care of him.

Now, this seven-year-old special child has been handed over to Swastha under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan programme.

The child could be rehabilitated mainly due to the zeal and perseverance of Karnataka Rakshana Vedike District President Venkatesh Poojary, Co-ordinating Secretary Davood and officers from Education Department.

The Vedike members provided clothes, books and other commodities required by the boy during the enrollment. Vedike also handed over a cheque of Rs 3,000 to the institutions.
