The Bharatinagar police secured the CCTV footages that on careful observation, clearly showed that along with the security guards, two of their associates were involved. All of them are from Assam. The security agency which appointed them feels they might have forged the documents.

Interestingly, when Santosh, the constable on the Cheetah two-wheeler patrol vehicle, came to the bank to sign the night beat register, one of the guards was sitting in the guard’s room, while the others were already on their job.

He managed to hoodwink Santosh saying his colleague (the other security guard) had gone out to attend the call of nature. Once the constable left the place, each of the suspects walked into the ATM in turns and completed the job.

Chaudhary, the main accused in the case, broke the glass panes and bank’s rolling shutters. As he was aware that the ATM keys were kept in the clerk’s workspace, it made their job easy. The foursome carried the cash box to the fifth floor of the bank building and put the cash in the backpacks, which they had brought in advance. Chaudhary left the bank premises with the cash in his bicycle. As per the CCTV footage, exactly at 3.17 am, the last accused walked out of the bank with the booty.

Chaudhary and Poojary were staying at a room in Dooddagunte near Cox Town and just before coming for work, they had vacated it. On enquiry, the cops found that a week ago, they had informed the owner about vacating the room and had taken back the advance amount.

The Bangalore East division police have formed a team, which has left for the North East to nab the culprits.
