Prem claims the movie, that was released in 200 theatres across the State, did exceptionally well. He says his idea to portray the struggle of a man, who is transformed by his circumstances, clicked with the people. And now, Prem will act in two movies before he returns to direct another film which he terms as ‘big budget.’

He will play the lead in Adda, directed by Mahesh Babu and he will also be playing an interesting character in another untitled film by Munirathna. Talking about his role in Adda, Prem says, “This movie is a remake of an old film. It’s a realistic film that is tweaked to suit the modern context. I appear without any make-up. I have a raw look. I prefer doing films that are real and deal with things that affect people,” says Prem.

Prem thinks acting and directing at the same time is no easy task. He points out that Upendra, for instance, directed and acted in a movie.

“He made a film that suited his style and a subject that he is comfortable with. But not everyone can do that. I can do only one thing at a time, either act or direct,” he avers.
Prem has started working on his next directorial but refuses to divulge any details. “It will be really big and the script will be exciting, a subject that hasn’t really been explored before. I don’t want to talk about it now and kill the curiosity among people,” he wraps up.
