‘Notions in Motion’

A seminar, ‘Notions in Motion — The Future of Animation’ will be held on November 19 from 1.30 pm to 5.30 pm at the Goethe-Institut/Max Mueller Bhavan,  716, CMH Road, Indiranagar 1st Stage. ‘Live art’

National Gallery of Modern Art is hosting ‘Live Art 2011’, a performance festival, on November 19 from 10 am to 6 pm at the gallery premises at Manikyavelu Mansion, 49 Palace Road. ‘Shakti Shaktiman’

Bangalore International Centre, in collaboration with The Himalaya Drug Company, is organising Shakti Shaktiman, a dance production by Malavika Sarukkai on November 20, 7 pm at St John’s Auditorium, Koramangala. In this performance, Malavika Sarukkai will present the dynamic and complementary tensions of Devi as the vitalising life force and Siva as the primal energy in the form of the lingam.

A firm believer in the continuity of the classical tradition, she has, over the last three decades, evolved a distinctive dance style that is rooted in the sacred, works with the classical alphabet and invests interpretations with contemporary energies. Fine lines

A group show will be held at the Renaissance Gallerie from November 15 to 19. On display will be paintings by Bruno Ville Franche from Pondicherry, Jacques Beaumelle (French artist), Irudhayanathan from Pondicherry, R Soumya Chakraborty from Kolkata and P S Kumar from Bangalore.

Ganjam presents ‘Flights of Fantasy,’ a three-day Carnatic music festival featuring some of India’s finest musicians, on November 20. Nadajyothi Sri Thyagaraja Swami Bhajana Sabha is presenting Karthika Sangeetha Shubha Sandhya, a classical veena concert by Suma Sudhindra, on November 19, 6.30 pm.
