Be aware of traditions: Suttur mutt seer

He was speaking at the Dwadasha Jyothirlinga programme organised at the Avadoota Datta peetha here on Sunday.

The seer said western philosophy preaches on happiness of the individual, but Indian philosophy tells people to be happy and include others also in the celebration.

A few people are turning away from religion. Such people should be made to understand the importance of religion. They should be provided with scientific explanation related to traditions.

There is a need for publicising religion and spread their values. He said Sadananda Gowda was a perfect example of a well-cultured chief minister.

Chief minister D V Sadananda Gowda said Hindu religion should spread its message across the world.

For the last 10 years, the religion is facing many obstacles. We need to join hands and face such obstacles.

Participating in the programme has increased my responsibility and inspired me to discharge my duties honestly. The country is known for its spirituality.

Instead of trying to win over others, a person should first win over himself. But, we, as politicians, try to win over others and fail, he added.

The ever-smiling chief minister told the audience to keep smiling at all times and work honestly.

Seer of Avadoota Datta peetha Ganapathi Sachchidananda, founder of Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement Dr Balasubramanya, Narayanachar, MLC G Madhusudhan and others were present on the occasion.
