Ravi Poojary's aides arrested

They were planning to rob people

The arrested are Giriraj, Nagendra Prasad, Sunil Kumar, John Naveen, Naheem Pasha, Sayir Ali and Shappu.

These men, along with the other key loyalists of Ravi Poojary namely Suhail, Nizam and Sathya, had allegedly mugged, extorted money and valuables from people in Mahadevapura.

According to the police, the accused had planned to target people in the vicinity.

They were caught while attempting to rob people. Pistols, airguns, iron rods, daggers, knives and chilly powder, five mobile phones and three vehicles were recovered from them.
In July, Ravi Poojary’s henchmen, including Suhail, Imran, Nizam, Sathya and Siraj, had attacked the office of the entertainment company UTV on CMH Road in Indiranagar. They had also assaulted a security guard and a job seeker in the office.

According to the police, they had warned that Ronnie Screwvala, the owner of UTV, would have to face  dire consequences if he continued to support Dawood Ibrahim. So far, 21 associates of Ravi Poojary have been arrested.

Earlier in the year, 14 aides of Poojary were arrested in three encounters.
