“The results show the West Indies have not done well,” the Hyderabadi said on Monday afternoon. “But in each and every session, they were quite good. The end result shows we are leading 2-0 but this West Indian team is a very good side. Their bowling attack is one of the best in world cricket. Edwards and Roach bowled really well in the last match. Rampaul has been a very good bowler for them in the last 2 years. Bishoo is a very good spinner.

All of them are very good, it’s a good bowling unit. You saw the way Bravo played in the last match. Kirk Edwards made a century on debut against us in Dominica, Chanderpaul has obviously been a match-winner for long. It’s unfortunate that people are not rating this West Indian side. I feel this is a very good cricketing side.”

Adding that Australia was the series the team was looking forward to, Laxman went on, “We are happy with the way we have played in both the Test matches. If you see the Delhi Test match, we were in some tough situations, especially at the end of the second day. We bounced back and won that Test match. It showed the potential in the team. It’s good that we go to Australia with a positive mindset. If we play the way we have played in this series, it will really help.”

India would look to end the series with a 3-0 scoreline, Laxman added. “We would like to definitely win the series 3-0, that’s our target. It’s very important to play to our potential and do a lot of hard work, especially after the way the West Indians played in the second innings at Kolkata. We would like to concentrate on the process and if end up winning the match, it will be great for us.”
