Fresh from their derby win against bitter foes East Bengal, Bagan drew first blood but Prayag bounced back, riding on a double from Ghana forward Yusif Yakubu, who pumped in goals in the 54th and 56th minutes.

Yakubu, who had set up Shankar Oraon (42nd) for their first goal, was adjudged man of the match. Bagan, who scored through Snehasish Chakrabarty (21st) and Odafa Onyeka Okolie (46th), looked completely reliant on Odafa.

Gouranga Dutta set one up from the right as Snehashish found the back of the net to give Mohun Bagan the lead. Oraon scored from a rebound that came off the post courtesy a Yakubu shot to make it 1-1 at halftime.  Right after the break, Odafa put Bagan ahead from a Sunil Chhetri pass. Suddenly a handball by Kingshuk Debnath from a Josimar shot inside their box made it worse for Bagan.

Yakubu scored from the spot to help Prayag level 2-2 and, in two minutes’ time, he fired another one from a corner to settle the issue. In Margao, Dempo continued their perfect run with a 5-0 hammering of Shillong Lajong at the Nehru Stadium. Dempo found their goals through Anthony Pereira (3rd, 35th), Koko Sakibo (22nd), Ranti Martins (50th), Clifford Miranda (52nd). The Goans moved six points clear of Bagan with 21 points from seven matches while Shillong are eighth with seven points.

In Pune, strikes from Ebi Sukore (45th) and Friday Gbeneme (50th) helped Mumbai FC to a 2-1 win over Sporting Clube de Goa. Victorino Fernandes scores for the away side in the 87th minute.
