People's problems

Sewage pipes blocked

Sewage pipes are blocked in our area at Lewis Road-Lloyd Road junction, Wheeler Road Extension-McPherson road junction besides a block in a manhole on Wheeler Road Extension near Lewis Road.

These blocks pose a serious health hazard to the neighbourhood. The sewage water overflows from these junctions, flows into the stormwater drain which go directly to Ulsoor lake.

The sewage water flows  in full force in the storm water drain which passes  by our houses. Repeated complaints have been registered on the 24-hour helpline since April 2011.

The officials and staff have said that they have not been able to get to the root  cause for these blockages.

The slightest of rains is enough to bring all the sewage water onto the road and the vehicles add to the agony by splashing it all over.

I request the authorities concerned to solve this problem.

Asphalt road immediately

About one month back almost 200 feet of road was dug up to a depth of 10 feet to lay new sewage pipes on Avenue road. After this work, the road is in a very bad shape as it has not been asphalted but only filled with mud and sand.

We request the authorities to asphalt this portion immediately as it is hindering traffic in this high traffic density road.

The dust is also causing health problems to both the shop owners and also the customers.

Water shortage

The people of Ramachandrapura (near BEL Circle) face acute shortage of  water supply these days.  The person in-charge says that the borewell is not functioning properly and its capacity to pull water has come down a lot due to wear and tear.  But a couple of months ago, two borewells were dug near old cinema tent as well as near kerosene depot.

Unfortunately, these two new borewells have not yet been connected to tide over the water shortage. Will the authorities concerned instruct the people in charge in the area to connect the new borewells to meet the water requirement in Ramachandrapura ?

Sewage water on street

This is to bring to your kind notice that the only mud road in JP Nagar, the 23rd main, Ramanna Street, has sewage water flowing on the street when it rains and the street becomes a breeding ground for mosquitoes because of the stagnant water in front of the houses.

This is becoming a threat to the residents of this street. The Corporation authorities have not taken any action.

The least action expected from the government for the health of the residents is to spray disinfectants on the streets.  Will the concerned authorities look into the matter?

Garbage dumped in vacant site

Garbage is being dumped in the vacant site at 13th cross, 22nd Main Road, Raghavendra Layout, Padmanabhanagar.

Palike employees connected with garbage collection and disposal themselves converted this huge site into a garbage dumping yard.
Despite lodging complaints with the Corporator, Health Inspector, the problem continues.
Will the Commissioner and Mayor look into the matter?

Stray menace

We live in an apartment near Canara Bank on Vittal Mallya Road. There is a big group of stray dogs roaming from UB City to St Marks Road junction causing nuisance at night besides being a threat to children.

Unasphalted roads

The 1st and 2nd Main Road of the Canara Bank Layout Kodigehalli Virupakshapura and cross roads connecting to these two main roads have not been asphalted for more than eight years. The present conditions of the road are very bad and impossible to ply with jelly and concrete causing severe hardship to children, senior citizens and working women. Motorcycles and cars get punctured due to loose concrete pebbles. On either side of the roads trenches have been dug up which have become ditches collecting sewage for years and are breeding grounds for mosquitoes. The dust off the road has caused several respiratory ailments to the residents in the area.

Despite bringing our grievances to the knowledge of our corporator Nandini Srinivasan, no action has been taken so far. We request the authorities and peoples’ representatives to look into the issue.

Uncovered pits a nightmare

We the residents of Telecom Layout, Jakkur, would like to bring to the notice of officials concerned of BWSSB regarding laying of underground pipeline at Telecom Layout, Jakkur.  BWSSB has completed the pipeline work and has not covered the pits dug up for this purpose. It is a nightmare to drive or walk during night time due to these uncovered pits and also with snakes around.

The Telecom Layout  Association had tarred the road during layout formation and the road was in good conduction till BWSSB undertook the pipeline work.
This is causing lot of inconvenience to the residents. We request the authorities concerned to fill the pits and ashpalt the road.
