Teacher held for showing porn

In a bid to save the accused from the angry mob, the police fired at them injuring three villagers. Ten cops sustained injuries as the mob clashed with the police. The mob also set ablaze two police vehicles and clashed with the cops as they targeted the accused, Viney Singh, who was nabbed from the school. He was being interrogated.

Parents of some students from Baniani village reached the school on Wednesday after their wards complained that Singh used to show them “obscene” material, police said.

The mob forcibly entered the computer room and caught hold of Singh and found pornographic material stored in his computer. They started beating him up before the police arrived on the scene. However, the mob fury remained unabated as they wanted the police to hand over the accused to them, resulting in a clash.

Senior Superintendent of Police Alok Rao said the police initially used mild cane charge to disperse the mob but had to resort to firing when they turned increasingly violent and clashed with the police. He said a case had been registered against Singh. Some villagers were booked for violence and arson.
