Obnoxious dance by cheer girls.

Sir, The dance programme arranged by IPL authorities by the cheer girls who are objectionably dressed is against Indian culture, which respects women. In future the IPL management should desist from arranging dance programme by the cheer girls. Instead they may conduct dance programme of the type of Bharata Natyam and such other dance programmes that represent Indian culture to entertain the huge gathering to witness the cricket matches.

Honour departed souls

A section of politicians with their eye on vote bank are showering praises on LTTE making them great heroes. We have other politicians pointing to the heinous crime they committed on the Indian soil by brutally assassinating Rajiv Gandhi. But not one has recalled how many innocent people who were there on their call of duty and others present there for one reason or the other also got killed so brutally. We fail to understand how anyone can forget their sacrifice too. In honour of  those departed souls, may I request you to kindly publish their names with age and other details you possibly can provide so that people can know that  besides Rajiv Gandhi so many other innocent lives were also lost and their families put into untold sorrow and suffering.

 Snub the intemperates

It is absurd to read the warning of K.R.Vedike that if SC bench in not created in Karnataka serious actions will follow. Did KRV think that it is the only ultimate authority to decide such national matters? Pleading for SC bench in Karnataka is ok but not threatening as done by KRV. It is high time that media, politicians and people in general snub such forces by totally not giving importance to their intemperate talks in the interest of public ethics and national unity.

Varun’s claim vindicated

Apropos  news report ‘ Varun freed of NSA tag’ (DH.09/05/2009, National).

The Allahabad High Court’s State Advisory Board recommendation vindicates Mr.Varun Gandhi’s claim. The ‘benefit of doubt’ should be applied till Varun’s guilt or otherwise is proved. Even earlier when the POTA came into vogue Mr. Vaiko of MDMK was incarcerated for 19 months with political vendetta .The draconian laws like NSA were  meant for dreaded terrorists and hard-core criminals but not for the ‘inconvenient’ politicians.

The right to personal liberty is guaranteed in our constitution under Art. 21. If the same is contravened the judiciary may issue a writ of habeas Corpus against the authority. Mr.Varun’s arrest under NSA smacks of sheer vindictiveness. Considering the above the Mayawati government should respect the Advisory Boards’s guidance and should not appeal to the Apex court.

No public participation

In felling trees for Metro rail, the BMRCL has invited the problem of tree protectors on itself. As is done in many democratic countries the Metro company did not invite public participation nor sought objections to the plans that it wanted to execute. The decisions were unilateral and probably thought that it knows best. Naturally, felling of so many fully grown and beautiful trees in the rail track have not been appreciated by the public and concerned citizens have voiced their protests. It is time our Governments learn how to handle big projects by inviting public participation and involvement.

What Can save India?

Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and UP can save India after May 16th. In Tamil Nadu the opportunistic Karunanidhi is a spent force. Jayalilthaa ia smart lady and dynamic. She and her allies will get at least 30 Lok Sabha seats. Similarly, Mayavati in UP may garner about 50 seats. TDP Chief Chandra Babu Naidu and the TRD group will get about 30 seats in AP, where Congress will be routed.
BJP and its allies will do well in Karnataka, Gujarat, Punjab, Maharashtra and a few other states. Former PM Atal Behari Vajpayee must send out a personal request to the parties mentioned above to join NDA group and assuring them that the minorities will be looked after well and the Hindutva card need not bother other religions. L.K. Advani should speak in the same language and start talking personally to these leaders.
Sharad Pawar also should be cultivated. Independents and other small regional parties will then go after the winning horse. We do need a strong and cohesive alliance. Pakistan is getting torn. There is unrest in Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bangladesh also is a home of terrorists. So leaders of all non- Congress parties, other than the Left group should talk jointly and form a government at Delhi. Chandra Babu Naidu or Nitish Kumar could be the next Prime Minister. If a Congress-led coalition comes to power, the Gandhi-Nehru dynasty will ruin the country. We have seen enough of the arrogance of the Gandhi kids recently. Will all the political leaders care for our lovely motherland or only for their selfish family interests ?
