Guidelines for Ganeshotsava

The directions are as follows:

Mantap, pendals should not be installed at public roads. The organisers should take prior permission from Town Municipal Council (TMC) /police /Mescom /fire service personnel.
The use of loud speakers must be minimised to check pollution.

The loud speakers must be used between 6 am and 10 pm with the permission.
One must see that members from other community are not disturbed while bursting crackers.

Precautionary measures must be taken to provide security to the pendal 24 hours.
The committee members must be present at the pendal during the night.

Prior permission must be taken to carry out procession for the immersion of the Lord Ganesha idol.

The organisers must avoid taking procession in communally sensitive region.
The tableaux and fancy dress which will incite communal hatredness should not be used. Moreover, action will be initiated against forcible collection of money for Ganeshotsava.
All the decorative flowers should be removed while immersing the Ganesha idol.

The organisers should see that the procession will not affect electric wire, telephone and cable wires, the press release added.
