JOIN USShamsheeda was in love with Kashyap, a young hindu boy, who lived in the house opposite her’s. Once she had eloped with Kashyap and returned after 15 days. Her family did not file a complaint because the matter was mutually sorted out by the villagers.
On November 14, 2008 Shamsheeda again insisted on going with her lover against the wishes of her family. Enraged by her insistence, her brother Shamshu slit her throat with a sharp-edged instrument.
Shamsheeda’s father had died and she lived with her mother and brother. Kashyap often visited their house but no one had any idea about the young couple’s relationship.
An inter-religious love affair, thus, met a tragic end. The girl’s family was not at all upset over her death. They believe that Shamshu had taken such a step in order to prevent his sister from taking the wrong path.
