The CM, in his letter dated August 22, said the government had taken all steps to stop the spread of the disease. Karnataka was the first state to establish round-the-clock screening at airports in Bangalore and Mangalore. So far, more than 3.60 lakh passengers have been screened.

He said he held meetings with representatives of private hospitals and also video conference with district administrations on measures taken to tackle the disease. A 24X7 control room with toll free number had also been set up. The CM said there was a need for joint efforts by both the Centre and the State in tackling the situation.
