Kannada meet in Chandigarh on Aug 30

 
The event, jointly organised by the Kannada Sangha of Chandigarh and the Kannada-Punjab Parishath, Chandigarh, would be inaugurated by Dr Purushottama Bilimale, who is a linguist at the American Institute of Indian Languages, New Delhi, the KDA Chairman told reporters.

H S Shivaprakash, Reader, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi and noted theatre director Rani Balabir Kaur will also attend the convention. There are about 200 to 250 Kannada families in Punjab. Organising convention in Punjab will help development of Kannada, he said.

On August 29, the KDA would hold discussions with Karnataka organisations, which would be followed by a cultural evening, he said. He said a workshop will be organised on August 26 at the Freedom Park in Bangalore.
