Vignesh registered a 7-5, 6-1 victory over State-mate K Hemanth in the final, while Soha eked out a hard fought 7-6 (7-5), 7-6 (7-5) win over compatriot Prerna Kalwar in the girls’ summit clash. Vignesh had to fight hard in the first set as his opponent matched him strokes for strokes. But in the second set vignesh was in full control of the proceedings reeling off some spectacular shots.
In the U-12 boys’ final, Varun Venkat of Karnataka breezed to a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Achint Bhagath of Delhi, and Jharkhand’s Monalia Chakraborthy got the better of Muskan Ranjan of Maharashtra 7-6, 6-3 for the girls’ crown.
