JCI week from September 9


Speaking at a press meet here on Thursday, he said a series of competitions will be held for students and the general public as part of the week-long event.

On the first day, on September 9, there will be classical (solo) and folk (group) dance competitions at Town Hall for sub juniors, juniors and seniors among students.

Following are the other competitions: Elocution competition for high school students, Nalapad Residency, 2 pm on Sept 10, Outstanding Young person award at 4 pm, sports mela for physically and mentally challenged children from 9.30 am on Sept 11 at St Sebastian Centenary Hall at Bendoor, cooking competition at Lions Seva Mandir at 4 pm on Sept 12, rangoli, mehendi, hair style and flower arrangement competitions at 9.30 am on Sept 13 at Govt PU College for Women at Balmatta, children modelling contest for pre-nursery and LKG, UKG children at 3.30 pm at Town Hall on the same day, Meri Awaz Suno singing competition at 4 pm on Sept 14 at Town Hall and Namaste India variety show competition at 4 pm on Sept 15 at Town Hall.

The chapter former president Manjunath D said the JCI invites applications from young achievers in the age group of 18-40 years from Dakshina Kannada for “Young Achiever Award”.
