<p>Popular Kannada detective novelist S Narasimhaiah passed away here on Sunday. He was 86. <br /><br /></p>.<p>He was suffering from respiratory problems for the last 15 days and was undergoing treatment at a private hospital. He is survived by his wife, three sons and two daughters.<br /><br />Narasimhaiah’s works took a generation by storm when he began his career in the early 1960s. He authored more than 600 novels. ‘Purushottamana Sahasagalu’ brought him to limelight. He produced detective works for three decades. He was honoured with Kannada Sahitya Academy Award and Karnataka Rajyotsava Award.<br /><br />He was born in Chitradurga in 1925 and later settled in Bangalore. <br />Cremation took place at Harishchandra Ghat on Sunday evening.</p>
