The government is yet to notify the list of reserved wards but the Election Commission in the next couple of weeks would wind up its exercises for election. Speaking to Deccan Herald, the Chief Election Commissioner of Karnataka C R Chikmath said the Commission is preparing the voters list and is likely to conclude the work by August end. The Commission has procured almost 75 per cent of the total Electronic Voting Machines required for the election, from the Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL).

The Returning Officers and the Assistant Returning Officers have been identified for the elections.

The wait will be only for the final notification of the reservation of the wards, following which the dates for the election will be declared.
