The mood was joyous as some of the cast members of 'Savaari' gathered together recently to acknowledge publicly the success of their film. A large cake was duly cut amid loud bursts of applause while the cast and crew, who made it convenient to attend, interacted with people who had gathered at PVR, chatting informally and signing autographs.

'Savaari' is the remake of the Telugu movie Gamyam, directed by Jacob Varghese. The film focuses on the topic of Naxalites, with Raghu Mukherjee, Sringara Kitty and Kamalinee Mukherjee playing important roles.

“We are extremely proud of Savaari, a movie that has been very well received by the audience and the credit for this goes to the entire team,” said director Jacob Varghese. “Especially in these troubled times, with the industry being plagued by recession and cutbacks, it is indeed heartening to know that Savaari is still running to packed houses in some places in the City as well as the State,” he added.

“This definitely proves that people will continue to support good movies that are entertaining. For me, personally, Savaari has been a very satisfying experience and the positive feedback I have received is very encouraging. I myself will start shooting for one or two films shortly and if all goes well, there will be a movie with Ramya and myself in the pipeline soon. Talks are also on for signing two to three movies, including a romantic comedy,” said Sringara Kitty.

With already one Tamil movie under his belt, he is open to exploring good offers in Tamil films in the future.Varghese also spoke about the success of his first big film, “I feel extremely fortunate to have enjoyed the support of such a wonderful production team.”

He added, “The movie has become a successful mass entertainer and has been well received by all sections of the audience, including youth, family and the working class society. I hope it continues its magical run for 200 days and am looking for a project that will be even more successful than Savaari.”
