<p>Delhi Police unveiled an interactive map on Tuesday on its website to help people find the route to the nearest police station.<br /><br />The map will be available on smart phones soon, said Delhi Police Commissioner B K Gupta. <br />“It is part of a progressive, innovative and responsive policing policy,” said Gupta.<br /><br />‘Know Your Police Station’ is a map where people can find details of how to reach a particular police station, about the Station House Officer, and his contact details. This map will also help people in finding out the police station under whose jurisdiction a particular area is covered.<br /><br />This map was developed in association with Microsoft on the website www.delhipolice.nic.in.<br /><br />The web page also has a feedback provision in which people can provide information about crime-prone areas, any organised crime like gambling or illegal sale of liquor and accident-prone areas.<br /><br />“It will be optional for the person giving information to disclose his identity. We are only bothered about the information. The feedback will help police in identifying problems in different areas. </p>.<p>This outreach to public is also aimed at getting their active involvement in policing,” Gupta said. The web page will be monitored at the level of police stations and districts.<br /><br /></p>
