JOIN USAt least nine persons today died on the spot and 24 others were injured seriously when a local bus rolled several feet down near Kupvi in Chopal area of Shimla district, about 110 km from here.
The bus was on its way from Chopal to Dhar-Chanana in the snowbound interior area when the accident occurred in the evening.
The seriously injured persons were rushed to hospital at Shillai and Paonta Sahib, Deputy Commissioner, Shimla Onkar Sharma said.
All the bodies have been recovered and the injured have been rushed to hospital, he said.
Rescue parties with team of doctors were rushed immediately but the place was far off and driving on the snow-covered road was hazardous.
The accident took place near the same bridge where a utility van had rolled down three days ago, killing three persons.
