JOIN USA 40-year-old man allegedly raped his teenage daughter in Sarojini Nagar in south Delhi, police said on Saturday.
The accused has been identified as Madan Pandey, a resident of R K Puram Sector 13. He was arrested over a complaint filed by his wife. “The incident took place on Friday evening when Madan and his 16-year-old daughter were alone at their rented house. Madan’s wife had gone to a local market for shopping,” a senior police officer said.
Madan’s wife learnt about the incident from her daughter. “She told her that she was sleeping in her room, when the accused came inside and started misbehaving with her. She tried to go out, but he forced her inside the room and raped her,” the officer added.
Madan is also accused of threatening his daughter of dire consequences if she revealed the incident to her mother or anybody else. He was arrested after a medical test confirmed rape. Madan was working as a domestic help in the house of an army officer at RK Puram.

A hospital launched a suicide prevention programme to provide much needed intervention to those in need in Ghaziabad on Saturday.
Senior superintendent of police Raghubir Lal, launched the programme at the Pushpanjali Crosslay Hospital.
