Madhu is JD(S) youth wing chief

The JD(S) on Wednesday decided to appoint Madhu Bangarappa, son of former chief minister S Bangarappa, as the State president of its youth wing.

He will replace JD(S) MLA from Haliyal, Sunil Hegde. Madhu will formally take charge at a convention of the youth wing being organised at Haliyal in Uttara Kannada district on January 28, JD(S) State President H D Kumaraswamy told reporters, after a meeting with senior leaders of the party at a resort on the outskirts of the city.

Sunil Hegde has been asked to concentrate on the development of his constituency. So, the party took the decision to replace him with Madhu, he said.

Speaking to reporters, Madhu said the party had given him great responsibility and he was confident of accomplishing it. "I will tour the State and strengthen the party," he added.
