Advocates boycott proceedings

Extending support to advocates’ protest in Bangalore, advocates in the town boycotted the court proceedings here on Thursday.

Taluk Advocates’ Association working president Subba Reddy, addressing the gathering condemned assault on advocates in Bangalore by the police.

“All are equal in the eyes of the law. Though guilty needs punishment, none has the right to take the law into their hand,” he said.

Association president S Madan Mohan, advocates Alla Baksh, Narasimha Reddy and others were present.

In Shidlaghatta
Condemning the assault on advocates in Bangalore, lawyers in the town protested at the court premises here on Thursday. They also boycotted the court proceedings. They demanded action against the guilty.

“Advocates were assaulted for frivolous reason by the police. The issue that could have been sorted out through the talks, was blown out of proportion,” said the protesters.

Taluk Advocates’ Association president Papireddy, senior advocates D Ashwatha Narayana, E Narayanappa participated in the protest.

In Gauribidanur
Advocates took out a protest march from the Nagaiah Reddy Circle to the taluk office and raised slogans against the police. Association president M S Anand said “Police assault on advocates in Bangalore is inhuman. The police have unnecessarily made it into a big issue instead of working it out through talks.” He urged action against the guilty police.

Senior advocate Lakshmi Narayan, association vice-president Lakshmikanth and others were present.
