Nikshep sparkles

Top seed Nikshep BR handed Manish S the dreaded double bagel to kick-start his Asian under-14 Junior Series tennis tournament on a thumping note here on Monday.

Fresh from his Sunfeast AITA Super Series victory in Kolkata on Saturday, Nikshep took off from where he had left off, dismantling Manish 6-0, 6-0 in the opening round at the Jain International Residential School.

However, it was not so rosy for girls’ top seed Saranya Nagpal, who had to battle past Tanvi Bhat. Saranya took the opening set 6-1 but lost the second 4-6 before winning the third 6-4 to secure her spot in round two.
