The Border Security Force has been adjudged as the best marching contingent among paramilitary forces for this year's Republic Day parade.

The border guarding force has won the coveted award after more than a decade, since it won the last in 1997.

The 147-member contingent, led by BSF Deputy Commandant Harvinder Singh, had marched to the tune of 'Vijay Bharat' played by the BSF band.

The paramilitary force won the laurel leaving behind other paramilitary and police contingents of CRPF, ITBP, CISF, SSB, Assam Rifles and Delhi Police. The BSF guards Indian frontiers with Pakistan and Bangladesh.
