4 killed on City roads

Four people died in separate road accidents on Tuesday.

A 35-year-old man was run over by a BMTC bus near Banashankari bus stop on Tuesday morning.
The deceased, Yogesh, a resident of Vasanthapura, was working for a private firm on Subramanyapura Main Road. Married with two children, Yogesh was on his way to the factory when the accident occurred.

Jayanthi, an eye-witness, told Deccan Herald that the BMTC bus was taking a U-turn in front of a traffic junction when Yogesh tried to get past the bus. But the motorbike got stuck under the wheels of the bus, killing him on the spot.

Driver Sadananda fled the scene. Angry passersby threw stones at the bus and disrupted traffic for sometime in the area.

A 12-year-old boy was killed instantaneously when a tipper lorry ran him over while he was riding a bicycle near Gokul Garments at Rachenahalli in Chikkajala.

In a head-on collision between two motorcycles, a 23-year-old man died on the spot, police said. The accident occurred on the Kothanur-Hennur Main Road. Raju, the deceased, was a resident of Kadugodi.

A 55-year-old pedestrian died after a car knocked her down near Singasandra on Hosur Main Road in Electronic City. Saberoon, a resident of Sikaripalya, was working as a daily wage labourer and staying with her son, police said.

Eunuchs assaulted

Residents of RPC Layout in Vijayanagar allegedly assaulted eunuchs after rumours spread that a young boy was sexually assaulted by them.

The situation turned tense after the residents pelted stones at them, demanding that they vacate the area.

The situation was brought under control after police intervened.
