The headmaster of an international school, who was arrested recently on the charge of sexually abusing a boy, had allegedly submitted a fabricated document to join the institution.
A press release issued by TRIO World School stated, “On continuation of inquiries about Paul Meekin’s past and cross-verifying the documents submitted by him at the time of seeking employment, we got to know that the ‘Doctor of Philosophy’ certificate of the University of Sheffield dated January 27, 2004, is fabricated.”
Meekin was dismissed on January 23, 2012, based on a complaint filed by the mother of the boy.
The Karnataka State Commission for Protection of Child rights is also inquiring into violation of child rights Meekin may have committed. “He has boasted to our ex-teacher that he has multiple passports with him. There is an apprehension that he may abuse our schoolchildren and run away.The TRIO Management have filed an FIR with the Kodigehalli Police Station in this regard,” the release added.
