Siddu claims credit

Last Updated 04 February 2012, 18:15 IST

Senior leader Siddaramaiah, who has come under criticism for not doing enough to galvanise the State Congress, claimed credit for exposing the alleged misdeeds of former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa and former ministers Janardhana Reddy and Katta Subramanya Naidu.

“It is because the party exposed the corruption in the Legislature, Yeddyurappa and Katta were sent to jail. Reddy is till languishing in jail because the party took out a padayatra to Bellary from Bangalore,” he said at the general body meeting.

He said it was wrong to say that the party lost almost all byelections because it was weak. The ruling BJP has been winning with the help of money power. The Congress is strong and it will be proved in the next Assembly elections, he added.
