Elephant found dead in Nanjangud

The tusker is said to be around 30 years and was found dead in a sitting posture, giving rise to suspicion. No marks of wounds were found on its body, according to official sources.
Veterinarian Dr Girish and Dr Niranjan performed the post mortem.

The viscera of the tusker will be forwarded to the laboratory in Bangalore for tests and the exact reason of its death could be known only after reports arrive, said Nanjangud forest range officer Jayashekar.
