'Young Bankers' programme launched

Manipal Global Education Services, in association with Axis Bank, on Monday, launched the ‘Young Bankers’ programme and inaugurated the campus premises at the Manipal University Bangalore campus in Chokenahalli, Hegdenagar.

Briefing reporters Axis Bank President & Head (Human Resources) Rajesh Dahiya said, “The ‘Young Bankers’ programme is a one year full time residential programme where students will be trained on the various aspects of Banking, Relationship Management and Sales. The programme also includes nine months of intensive campus training and three months internship at any Axis Bank branch across the country.”

The 120 students will be awarded with a post-graduate diploma in banking services by Manipal University and will be absorbed in the Assistant Manager grade by Axis Bank with a salary of Rs 3.5 lakh CTC. The fees for the programme would be around Rs 3 lakh where in students will get stipend of Rs 3,000 for nine months and Rs 12,000 for next three months.

With 55 per cent marks in graduation, students from any stream can apply for the programme.

Manipal Global Education Services COO S Vaitheeswaran said, “Manipal has been successfully applying this industry-academia business model with other banks in India. We believe working relationships such as this will be truly beneficial to the industry.”
