Rs 7 lakh stolen in separate incidents

Two men lost money kept in the utility box of their two-wheelers in separate incidents on Thursday noon.

Rajanna, an electrician, withdrew Rs five lakh from a bank on 80 Feet Road and rode to Harsha Layout with the cash in the utility box. He opened the box to repay Rs 10,000 loan he had borrowed from his friend at a workshop on 9th Cross, but forgot to lock the box and even left the key there itself. 

Police said the balance cash of Rs 4.90 lakh was missing when Rajanna returned after 20 minutes.

In another incident in Vijayanagar, Kamath Joseph lost his Rs two lakh kept in the utility box of his two-wheeler. According to police, he withdrew the money from a bank at Pattergarpalya and parked the vehicle in front of a wine store close to the bank, to meet a friend. 

Joseph returned soon and rode to Kamakshipalya where he had to make some payments, but found the cash missing.
