Business rivalry reason for murder

Fellow trader arrested; further investigations on, says SP R Dileep

In a swift operation, T Narsipura police claim to have busted a murder case arresting the prime accused on Saturday.

Addressing media here on Saturday, superintendent of police R Dileep said steel vendor Asif Ali was murdered due to business rivalry.

Nitin, neighbour vendor of the deceased, is the prime accused in the case and has been arrested.

Asif was found bludgeoned to death behind his shop in T P Boraiah Building on the night of February 9. He was found dead with slit throat and blood oozing out.

A police team, led by DySP Vijay Kumar, consisting of circle inspector K S Sunderraj had been constituted. Acting on the leads, the investigators apprehended Nitin.

The case is still under investigation and more information is expected to be retrieved as to what actually led to the murder.

The other cases cracked include chain snatching at Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy jatra held recently under Talkad police limits and another registered at Kanakapura town police limits.

Shivaratnamma of Malavalli in Mandya district had been robbed of her gold chain worth Rs one lakh in the jatra. The investigators succeeded in solving the case arresting three professionals, all women — Kannniga, Devi and Lakshmi from Bangalore.

In another case, two persons moving in a suspicious manner in the town on January 22 had been taken into custody. They were Basha and Syed Umar. During interrogation the duo confessed to have burgled valuables worth Rs 3,3010 in Kanakapura.

In yet another case a man who had lifted an autorickshaw was arrested.
