Union Minister for Corporate Affairs M Veerappa Moily said that National Competition Policy-2012 will be lanuched on March 31.

Speaking at a conference on investor awareness and corporate governance organised by the Udupi unit of Chartered Accountants of India at MGM College on Sunday, he said the policy would provide a conducive atmosphere for the investors and would generate employment.

He said India would emerge as an economically strong country by 2050. The internal production would be 89.97 trillion dollar and the China’s production would be 80.20 trillion dollar.

“We need to have  a concept of ‘Green India’ which is corruption-free. There is a need to build a strong, corruption free country by bringing in transparency in administration. We should make use of our strength and achieve success,” he said. Corporation Bank Chairman and Managing Director Ajay Kumar was the chief guest.Earlier, speaking to presspersons, Moily said that the State government is making one mistake after another. “I do not know whether there was any curse on the government or it does not want to live further?” he said.

The government has shown arrogancy in connection with the appointment of Lokayukta and Upa Lokayukta. It is a grave mistake. The government must have discussed with the Governor and High Court Chief Justice while appointing Upa Lokayukta.

To a query on watching obscene video clippings by the ministers, he said “Speaker has constituted a committee. Let us wait and watch what would be the result. There is a need to probe into the incident, which has reduced the dignity of the Assembly.”

On rave party at Malpe in the name of promotion of tourism, he said criminal case should be filed against the culprits.

Moily refused to comment on Election Commission writing to President to initiate action against Union Minister for Law Salman Khurshid for his defiance of model code of conduct.
‘Draupadi Mahakavya soon’
