Speaking to presspersons here on Monday, he said “tenders should be accepted only if they fulfill the conditions. As per the conditions, those contractors who applied for the concreting of roads must possess ‘concrete paving machine with electronic sensor and inbuilt vibrator’ or the contractor should provide an affidavit from another contractor who is willing to give the machine to be used for the concreting of roads. However, the officials have given the contract to those who do not possess the machine.”

He said “the concreting of Bendoorwell-Shivabhaghm Bunts Hostel-Nanthoor has been given to a contractor who does not possess concrete paving machine with electronic sensor and inbuilt vibrator. He has only scrit machine. Without concrete paving machine with electronic sensor and inbuilt vibrator, 30 per cent less concrete will be used for the road.

With the use of this vibrator machine, the quality of road will be good and will last long.
Without using concrete paving machine with electronic sensor and inbuilt vibrator, MCC is paying Rs 2.67 crore additional fund to the contractor,” he added.

Nagarika Hitharakashana Samithi has already filed a writ petition before the IV Additional Civil Court for neglecting the tender condition and paying more money to the contractor. The court is likely to pass a stay order on September 2, he added.
