BJP members to undertake four-day padyatra

About a dozen swamis of various mutts will also be participating in the padayatra that begins from Nandihills, where the river orginates and flows towards Cauvery at Sangam near Srirangapatna in Mysore.
The 190 km long river, which was one of the main source of drinking water supply to the city through the Hesaraghatta reservoir, started drying up since 1984 due to neglect in the wake of the city getting Cauvery water.
Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa has sanctioned Rs two crore for undertaking survey to 'revive' the river, Vishwanath told reporters here.
State Unit BJP Yuva Morcha President S Prakash and Muniraju, MLA were also present.
