Last Updated 18 February 2012, 19:06 IST

Some of the big brains in the field of radiation oncology gathered to discuss some fine aspects of radio surgery and various experiences of using the TrueBeam STx, the latest technology which targets only cancer cells in tumours even in moving organs (lungs, prostate, and kidney) with amazing precision while sparing the surrounding normal healthy tissues.

At an international symposium organised by BGS Global hospitals here on Saturday, oncologists from across the world participated to share their experiences at a scientific session.

Among the participants were Prof Shyam Kishore Shrivastava from Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai and Prof Gurunath Kilara, director, MSR Curie Cancer Hospital, Bangalore.

Among the international speakers were Dr Kevin Murphy from University of California, USA; Dr Carlo Greco, University of Pisa, Italy and Dr Luca Cozzi, from Oncology Institute of Southern Switzerland.
